Vivienne Westwood, who would have been 85 this month, was a noted champion of environmental causes. This Earth Day, here is a free pattern for a Vivienne Westwood draped shirt.
Westwood shared this pattern from Worlds End, her boutique on the King’s Road, London, that uses leftover fabrics from previous seasons. The long-sleeved, draped shirt uses the selvedge and tearability of shirting fabric for a raw-edged finish, and buttons in place to a shoulder panel.

The original dates to circa Spring 2013, when previous seasons’ leftover shirting-weight fabrics might have included both tartan and windowpane checks (Fall 2012) as well as gingham check and pinstripe (Spring 2012).

Bonus: Also available in the Worlds End archive is a free pattern for a Basquiat-esque Vivienne Westwood crown hat. First posted in 2013, the accessory seems to have made its runway debut in Autumn-Winter 2010. Variations were featured in later shows; one of these was included in the V&A exhibit Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser.

The shirt pattern download comes in A4 sheets.
