Congratulations to the winners! I’ll be in touch by e-mail to get your mailing addresses.
Thanks again to Vogue Patterns for providing the patterns. If you’re new to my blog, you might be interested in my earlier post, How Do You Take Your Vintage Vogue?, for discussion of the Vintage Vogue pattern line since 1998 and changing approaches to vintage.
As it turns out, this is actually the second time Vogue S-4595 has been reissued. After I added my pattern to the Vintage Patterns Wiki, admin Petite Main noted that it was reissued in 1957 as Vogue S-4771:

If you have patterns you’re interested in sharing with Vogue Patterns, I’ve put together a special post with the details on the Vintage Vogue Search.
Oohhh, congratulations to the winners! Sew Exhausted (jealous, that’s the one I entered in for) and MollyH. And thanks, for having this giveaway. 🙂
I am completely and totally thrilled!! Thank you so very much and I cannot WAIT to make a lovely dress from this pattern! ~Laurie
I have noticed that I have in my collection 2 patterns which were reissued in 1957 with new artwork. I think this was because that was one of the years Vogue changed its pattern sizing. My theory is that it made sense to reissue best sellers with new artwork. Additionally the 1957 artwork seems more free, less tight and controlled, perhaps a harbinger of things to come in the 1960s.
Interesting! In 1956, Vogue started to produce printed patterns, with a black band along the bottom of the envelope advertising this. Another good reason to redo the artwork..
When is the next giveaway please??
